The act of giving babies massages has been used for hundreds of years in Eastern cultures. Touch is one of our most important senses and it is a primordial instinct to touch each other. Baby massage has many benefits for both parent and baby. It can strengthen the parent/child relationship and offers the parent a way to get to know and understand their baby. Massage can ease a baby's transition from womb to the world and help stimulate a baby's development. Massage gives parents a way to communicate to their baby love, security, comfort.

Baby massage is suitable for babies between the ages of 6 weeks to active crawlers. Courses consist of 4 one hour sessions as a group or one to one sessions.
By the end of the course the parent will confidently be able to perform a full body massage on their baby.

Benefits:
Relief: Massage can bring relief to a number of common conditions suffered by babies such as colic, wind, constipation, stools, teething, colds and congestion.
Relaxation: When massaging a baby the baby's body produces 'feel-good hormones'. These hormones help to balance the levels of stress hormones in the body, thereby
helping to improve appetite and encourage sleep.
Stimulation and development: When massaging a baby you are encouraging the development of all their sensory systems; smell, aural, visual, touch and body awareness.
Bonding: Infant massage plays an important part in enhancing, beginning and continuing the bonding process; the act of giving baby a massage encourages close feelings
of connection as it is special one-to-one time.
